Couple massage in Amsterdam after midnight, when the concert you both flew in for is over
Plenty of reunions are built around a ticket: a band one of you has loved since school, a show with a single date this side of the ocean, a festival night. The encore ends, the city is still loud, and nobody wants the evening to stop. An after-midnight couple massage is one way of letting it run on in private.
While you read
Nothing on this page asks you to decide anything. It can be read and left alone.
A concert trip runs late by design
A trip planned around a performance has a fixed point in it that neither of you controls. Doors open in the early evening, the main act walks on at nine or later, and the encore finishes when the band decides it does. The journey back from the big halls in the south-east of the city, or from the clubs and music venues around Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, takes a while on a night when thousands of people leave at once. Back in the room by half past eleven is good going.
Bodies are not ready for sleep at that point. Ears still ring, feet ache from hours of standing, and the two of you are still arguing happily about the third song. A late session suits that state better than an early evening slot would, because it follows the high point of the day instead of competing with it.
Booking the late couple massage before the doors open
Arrange it in the afternoon, not from the cloakroom queue. Pick an hour that leaves room for the journey back and a shower, then add a cushion for an encore that runs on and a tram that arrives full: a knock at half past twelve is safer than one at a quarter to. Give the hotel, the length and whether it is one therapist between you or one each. If the night changes shape during the show, one line in the thread before she sets out is enough to push the hour back.
From the confirmed hour she needs forty to sixty minutes to reach a central door, and that holds at one in the morning exactly as it does at seven in the evening.
Not on the night of a long flight
One rule is worth keeping. Do not stack a concert and a late session on the same day as a long journey. Someone awake since dawn who has stood through a long set and then lies down on warm towels at one will be asleep before the session has properly begun. If the show falls on the day the second of you lands, keep the late hour for the following night, and read the second arrival for how that landing shapes the first evening.
Lengths that suit a late start
Ninety minutes ending around two still leaves a decent night of sleep if the morning is free. Two hours works when tomorrow has nothing fixed in it. Anything longer is better treated as the eight hour block, with its start and finish written into the confirmation and half the fee ahead whatever the notice. After a night on your feet, a format that asks nothing of the room, such as the sensual one, is a gentle choice.
